The 1968 SCCA race at Bryar (Loudon New Hampshire) photos have made it onto the internet, if you have photos of vintage racing (SCCA or NHRA) get them scanned and uploaded, share them!
0 comments Posted by Unknown at 6:10 PMThe guys in the Boss Mustangs forum were cool and pointed out the cars above the track curve in the above photo... gt500 Shelby Stang, Porsche, Olds, Falcon, mini, Delivery Van, Plymouth full size, Corvette, 55 Chev, real AC Cobra (no copies back then!) and a Cortina I think... but go down a couple photos and look in the upper right hand corner to see what wasn't captured in the view of the above image... a real GT 40
These Cougars are both owned by Peter Revson, and in 1966 he was racing a GT40 for Essex Wire Co's team with Skip Scott where he helped win the world title for GTcars. Consecutively with the Cougars he was driving a Lola for Dana in Can Am, and a McLaren in USRRC
How about that GT40? Effin cool that someone drove that to watch the races. Serious cool sports cars on the other side of that fence, no one drives cars that cool to watch races anymore. Who can afford the insurance? A Gt500 Shelby Stang, 911 I think, possibly a 427 65 Vette, Shelby 289 Cobra I bet, and a GT40... wow.
above GT500KR
Very interesting that I've never seen the inside of one of these cars when it was racing in the 60's

Yellow Bullet.com has a thread going about cars found in barns, fields, garages and backyards...

Just a reminder that critters and snakes all love the secret hiding spots in cars, and I've seen a couple photos of mean snakes that are hanging out under the hood waiting for you to pop it open.

Some people wait a lifetime to find a great car, some find it when they are a teen, and wait a lifetime to won it. Mark was a fortunate rarity, he got both the car he desired 30ish years ago, and it's a barnfind 1969 GT 500 Shelby Mustang

Mark's neighbor was an attorney that owned 3 Shelby Stangs, acquiring each as payment on cases, and this was the one he drove the most and damaged in the early 80's, and then parked it in the warehouse over his office. Once it went into the freight elevators and into that warehouse it was off the radar... til the attorney finally mentioned selling it to the single person that could reunite it with the once teenage neighbor kid
The original 428 was blown early, and replaced with a 390, but the sale went through at 25 thousand to Mark, because he'd known the seller since the 80's and the seller knew it was going to a good home finally

JF Kustoms made another cool car, this time the magic was cast on a '67 Gt 500
0 comments Posted by Unknown at 7:47 PMI love before and after photos, and am sorry that I didn't get a good front photo... there were a lot of people and lousy
one of the trickest coolest things on this car were the hood pin cables. Yeah, I'm geeked about some odd stuff
These are genius details... why hasn't anyone ever done leather hood pin cable covers before?
Here is a photo fo the 55 Chrysler station wagon that JF Kustoms did 4 years ago... it shocked everyone... it's that good. It was in the Car Crazy corral in front of SEMA in 2009 http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2009/11/entire-outdoors-at-sema-lot-to-look.html
It also put JF at the top of the custom car builder world, and earned him the Trendsetter of the Year Award by Goodguys for 2008. In 2006 Chip Foose awarded him the Design Excellance Award at the Grand National Roadster Show.
