Mitsubishi has released teaser images of its 2013 Geneva Motor Show concepts: the Concept GR-HEV and Concept CA-MiEV. The automaker calls the first a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) sport utility truck, and the latter a suburban EV. These concepts fall inline with the Japanese automaker’s goal to offer eight electric, hybrid-electric, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles by 2015, and we wonder whether we’ll ever see production variants of these concepts in the U.S.

The Mitsubishi Concept GR-HEV sport utility hybrid truck (shown above) reminds us of the Honda Ridgeline and discontinued Chevrolet Avalanche. Motivation for the Mitsubishi hybrid truck comes from a clean diesel engine and electric motors, while power is routed through the automaker’s Super All Wheel Control (S-WAC) system. Compared to a full EV or PHEV, Mitsubishi claims the diesel hybrid is the better option for the truck.
